Hi my name is Sophie Beracha! I am a sophomore at the University of Colorado - Boulder, studying statistics and data science. I am from St. Louis Missouri, and was originally drawn to Boulder for its location and well-rounded programs. My goal is to find a career in sports analytics.
Beyond academics, I have always had a passion for sports and music. I love following women’s basketball, both professional and collegiate, and enjoy keeping up with the growth and coverage of the WNBA and NCAA women’s tournaments. Music is another huge part of my life, and rap is my go-to genre. I find that it’s not only entertaining but also a creative outlet that inspires me, especially when I’m working on school projects or studying.
I grew up writing both academically and for personal enjoyment, however my male-dominated STEM major doesn't give me the opportunities to creatively and comfortable express myself. Joining Her Campus gives me the opportunity to bring together my interests in writing, culture, and community. I’m excited to share my perspective on topics like women in sports, music, and campus life, while also connecting with others who are passionate about storytelling. Whether I’m writing about the power of representation in athletics or giving a student’s perspective on life at CU Boulder, my goal is to create content that feels both relatable and meaningful.
