Sofia Vojvodic

Maryland '27

Hi! My name is Sofia Vojvodic and I am currently a freshman at University of Maryland. I'm undecided, but between communications and journalism for declaring a major. I attended Albert Einstein Highschool in Kensington Maryland.

I took journalism throughout highschool and mostly wrote articles either reviewing new movie and TV show releases or debriefing current pop culture events. More favorite courses I took in highschool were AP Language and Composition and Literature as Film. I've found myself to specifically like analyzing forms of art and deconstructing them to look at new perspectives. In terms of work experience, I've worked many food service jobs, ranging from farmers markets to acai bowl shops. I worked two farmers markets jobs. The first one was for a company called "Sexy Vegie" where I got to sell gazpacho, salads, and dips at the Washington D.C stand location. My second farmers market job was at Norman's Farm Market in Bethesda, Maryland. I had a great experience there and was able to meet alot of great customers and learn alot about their lives.

My personal interests are writing, listening to music, and watching movies. I also enjoy working with animals! I am a part of the Terps Raising Pups foundation on campus, and became an official sitter a few weeks ago. Terps Raising Pups is a foundation in which dogs are trained to officially become service dogs (seeing eye and PTSD focused). I love meeting new people and diving into things we have in common and things we do not. I would say my most enjoyable experiences are always when I get to discuss opinions over movies and music.
