Hi everyone!
My name is Skylar Mayer, and I’m a freshman at Wake Forest University, originally from Tampa, Florida. I’ve always loved storytelling and creative writing, and I’m excited to reconnect with that passion through this community. Writing has always been a way for me to make sense of experiences and emotions—turning moments of reflection into something meaningful to share with others.
At Wake Forest, I’m currently exploring courses that connect to both business and public policy, hoping to eventually find a path that lets me combine leadership with making a positive social impact. I’m fascinated by how people think, what motivates them, and how communication can bring people together. That curiosity often shows up in my writing, which tends to focus on connection, resilience, and growth.
Outside of academics, I’m passionate about fitness, self-development, and mental health advocacy.
I love starting my mornings with a good workout, spending time with people who challenge me to grow, and being intentional about living with balance and gratitude. I’m excited to engage with others who value creativity and authenticity, and I’m looking forward to learning from the unique voices in this community.
