Shahana Shaik is a second year undergraduate student at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), majoring in Biological Sciences. She has always been fascinated by the human body and how it works, which is what drew her to the field of science and health. Through her academic journey, she has developed a strong interest in helping others and hopes to pursue medical school after completing her undergraduate studies. She is motivated by the idea of making a meaningful difference in people’s lives and values compassion, service, and dedication in both her academic and personal goals.
Outside of the classroom, Shahana is actively involved in volunteering at Rush Hospital, where she enjoys being in a healthcare environment and learning through hands on experience. She also has a strong passion for planning and organizing events, which is why she is excited to be part of the Events Team for Her Campus at UIC. From organizing graduation celebrations for close friends to coordinating family and community gatherings, she enjoys making sure events are well planned, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone involved. As someone who naturally takes on responsibility, she is detail oriented, reliable, and always willing to go the extra mile to help things run smoothly.
In her free time, Shahana loves cooking, traveling, and organizing. She enjoys bringing people together, whether that’s through events, shared meals, or simply spending time getting to know others. She values building genuine connections and being part of a supportive community, which aligns closely with the mission of Her Campus. Shahana is excited to contribute her creativity, organization skills, and positive energy to help create meaningful experiences for members throughout the semester.
