Sarai Hernandez is a first-generation Marketing student at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) with interests in social media marketing, digital storytelling, brand strategy, and audience engagement. Through her coursework, leadership experiences, and creative projects, she has developed skills in editorial writing, content creation, consumer insights, and visual storytelling across digital platforms. Sarai is especially interested in how brands, media, and online communities connect with audiences through authentic storytelling and meaningful experiences.
At UIC, Sarai is involved in organizations including Her Campus UIC, TRIO Student Support Services, and the UIC Business Transfer Fellows Program. As a member of both the editorial and social media teams for Her Campus UIC, she creates written and digital content centered around lifestyle, culture, music, and student experiences while using platforms such as Canva, CapCut, Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, and Hootsuite to support content creation and audience engagement.
Outside of academics and campus involvement, Sarai is also the creator and host of The Vinyl Diaries on UIC Radio, a creative platform focused on music, storytelling, and media. In her free time, she enjoys discovering new music, exploring fashion and pop culture, finding aesthetically inspiring spaces around Chicago, and engaging with creative content that blends visuals, storytelling, and culture. She hopes to continue growing within marketing, media, and digital storytelling spaces that value creativity, collaboration, and authentic connection.
