I am an undergraduate at Barnard College of Columbia University, where I study the intersection of Psychology, Music, and Art History. My background is global: I was born in Singapore, raised in Vancouver, and attended high school at Stevenson School in California before moving to New York City for university. This international perspective has shaped my interest in how the arts and human behavior overlap, particularly in how creative expression and clinical science can be used together to understand mental health.
My professional experience balances the fast-paced music industry with rigorous psychiatric research. In Taipei, I worked as a Personal Assistant for JVR Music International and Universal Music Group, where I helped manage large-scale concerts and social media marketing for emerging pop artists. In contrast, I have also spent my summers as a researcher at Weill Cornell Medicine. Working in the labs, I investigated how music therapy and neurobiology can shift emotional brain states, eventually contributing to a co-authored abstract for the Society for Neuroscience.
Beyond the lab and the classroom, I am a digital storyteller and a community leader. I currently work in the social media section for Her Campus Barnard/ Columbia. My leadership background also includes serving as Co-Head of the AAPI Student Union at Stevenson School and various event committees, where I focused on DEI and student inclusivity. As a polyglot proficient in English, Mandarin, Japanese, French, and Burmese, I enjoy navigating diverse cultural spaces. Whether I am analyzing a brain scan or pitching a campaign, I am driven by a desire to bridge the gap between scientific research and the creative world.
