My name is Samy Ravichandran, and I am a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh majoring in neuroscience with a minor in creative writing. While I spend most of my time learning science, I’ve always had a strong passion for storytelling and self-expression. My biggest goal is to pursue a career in medicine and become a physician, with a focus on advocating for and empowering women in healthcare. I hope to use both my scientific background and my voice to make a meaningful impact. Writing has always been a space for me to explore these ideas in a more personal and relatable way. On campus, I am the founder of HEARTH, a student organization dedicated to supporting women and children in transitional housing after escaping domestic violence. I am also an undergraduate teaching assistant, where I help students build confidence and navigate challenging material. In my free time, I enjoy learning about women’s empowerment, wellness, style, and life as a college student, and I hope to continue using writing as a way to inspire and support other women.
