Sami is a second year student at the University of Virginia on a pre-law path, majoring in History and Politics and minoring in Psychology. She is originally from Bolivia and moved to Northern Virginia when she was 16, so coming to UVA has been a really exciting part of starting a new chapter in her life.
Outside of her classes, she works on The Cavalier Daily’s Spanish Translation Desk, where she translates articles into Spanish for the newspaper’s Spanish speaking audience. She is also a competitive debater with the Parliamentary Debate Society and a podcast host for the Global Inquirer Podcast with the International Relations Organization.
In her free time, Sami loves doing yoga, mindfulness, crochetting, painting, doing her makeup, and anything that allows her to be creative. She is also very drawn to the more peaceful and spiritual side of life, whether that means crystals, tarot cards, manifestation, journaling, or creating a cozy space where she can relax and reset.
