Rashda Choudhary is a Biological Sciences major at Virginia Tech with interests in research, writing, and community involvement. She has worked in several research labs focused on mental health, development, and biomedical science, where she has gained experience collaborating with teams, working with data, and contributing to projects that aim to better understand people and their experiences. Through her academic work, Rashda has become especially interested in how science, psychology, and social issues intersect.
Outside the classroom, Rashda is involved in student organizations and advocacy efforts on campus, particularly those centered on women’s empowerment and community support. Seeing women in her life face and overcome adversity has shaped her perspective and motivates her to help create spaces where people feel supported and heard. Writing is an important outlet for her, allowing her to reflect, connect with others, and explore topics related to mental health, identity, and personal growth.
In her free time, Rashda enjoys watercolor painting, creative design, and running a small henna art business. She values authenticity, creativity, and meaningful connection, and hopes to use her writing to share relatable stories and amplify diverse voices within the Virginia Tech community and beyond.
