Rachel Hassell grew up in Alvin, Texas and took the scenic route to University of Houston; first enlisting in the Texas Army National Guard at the age of 17, then completing her associate degree at Alvin Community College (ACC), earned her B.S. in Psychology with a certificate in Women’s Studies at University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL). While attending classes and working part time in various departments within both ACC and UHCL, she developed a passion for assisting students from beginning to end including; recruitment, enrollment, advising, all the way to graduation. Which has brought her to University of Houston’s program, M. Ed with an emphasis in Higher Education, with the full intention of becoming a university president someday.
