Owen Migdal is a sophomore at the University of Utah. Owen fell in love with journalism by chance when he signed up for an introduction to communications class as his high school freshman year elective. An introduction course turned into three more years of advanced journalism, where Owen took part in many aspects of the field including photography, videography, producing, broadcast, social media and not much blogging. His favorite part of the program was doing play-by-play at the football games. Owen joined the Quill and Scroll International Honor Society his sophomore year. He became interested in politics in third grade when his entire school took a vote on whether they support Barack Obama or John McCain for president. He has contributed to one (successful) congressional campaign, Ben McAdams Utah 2018. He was elected as a junior representative in the Spring of 2019 with the Associated Students of the University of Utah. He enjoys eating, watching “Grey’s Anatomy”, “How I Met Your Mother”, "The West Wing", "The Newsroom", and "Community", and cheering on the Indianapolis Colts. He also enjoys obsessing over American and Canadian politics.
