"Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic." ~ Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Niharika Jha is the Editorial Director of Her Campus at Manipal University Jaipur, where she spends a significant portion of her time surrounded by drafts, deadlines, and the occasional existential crisis over whether a semicolon belongs in a sentence. Currently pursuing a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biotechnology, she finds herself constantly switching between research papers and literary pieces, somehow enjoying both. She strongly believes in creative freedom and lives by the philosophy of “To each their own,” a mindset that shapes not only the way she writes but also the way she leads. To her, the best ideas emerge when people are given the space to think and express themselves authentically.
Before joining Her Campus, Niharika was actively involved in several psychology-related organisations during her school years in Kolkata, including serving as the President of her school's psychology society. During her tenure, she wrote and edited articles, organised initiatives, and encouraged conversations about topics that often go unspoken. Her love for writing also led her to become a student columnist for The Telegraph in Schools (TTIS), where she explored current issues and shared perspectives through the written word. Alongside her editorial interests, she is an avid debater with a keen interest in international politics, human rights, and the countless conversations that shape the world around us.
Outside academics and writing, Niharika is a four-time National Archery Champion, a multi-instrumentalist, and an unapologetic coffee enthusiast. She is usually found with a book in hand or deep in a motorsport discussion that nobody asked for but everyone eventually gets pulled into. She firmly believes that every song tells a story, that music belongs in almost every situation, and that some of life's best ideas arrive at inconvenient hours.
For Niharika, Her Campus is more than a platform for publishing articles. It is a space where different perspectives and experiences come together to create something meaningful. As Editorial Director, she hopes to help writers find confidence in their own voice, tell stories that matter to them, and remember that there is no single right way to create. After all, the most memorable stories are often the ones only one person could tell.
