My name is Natalie Arias, and I am a sophomore at Virginia Tech majoring in Multimedia Journalism with a Minor in Digital Marketing Strategies. As a first-generation college student, I take pride in my education, as attending college is a significant accomplishment for both myself and my family. One of my Major goals I have once I graduate from college is the chance to travel and document the different sights, cultures, and people that I see. Being able to spread the word about different cultures in a positive way is important to me and my goals and I hope to use journalism as a platform in order to share the world around us in an authentic way.
Alongside my academics, I currently work a Part time job but some of my main accomplishments have been being able to design company logos and work with websites such as Canva and Adobe Photoshop. Writing being one of my strengths, being able to tell stories, write opinions, and overall just saying what's on my mind has been such an outlet for me because it brings both my creativity and writing skills together. Some skills I have developed the most throughout college have been Communication, Writing, and creativity. I enjoy seeing what's happening on social media and analyzing trends that truly stand out and then creatively writing about it.
As for outside of school I really enjoy watching softball in my free time, hanging out with my friends whether it be going on a hike or even just chilling in my apartment, and also taking the time out of my day to talk to my family. Being able to bring close friends and family together in my life has helped me become able to be as creative as I am and talk and write about these experiences in my life.
