My name is Megan and I am a fourth year BBA student at Wilfrid Laurier University. My specialization is in marketing and my dream role would be something in fashion marketing or public relations. I will be graduating at the end of August 2024.
In terms of work experience I had the opportunity to be a part of Laurier's co-op program. Through this i managed to get 12 months total of work experience under my belt while completing my undergrad. I worked for Sunlife Financial for four months in their internal operations department. After that I worked in B2B marketing at Nokia for two terms totalling eight months. My work at both of these companies allowed me to build invaluable skills ans experience. However, they also made me realize that my passions lie in creative industries involving consumer-facing brands.
In terms of personal interests I run a beauty and fashion blog at VanillaDarling.com and an associated TikTok account @VanillaDarling. Both started as a passion project of mine that quickly grew over a short amount of time. I started them in October of 2023 and I currently have 124k followers and 3.2M likes on TikTok. I would love to use this experience in some sort of social media marketing position after I graduate.
