Marta Langston is a CSU Chico student completing her undergraduate degree as a Communication Studies major with a minor in Japanese. She has studied abroad at both Waseda University in Tokyo and Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Lisbon. These experiences have deepened her interest in how location and culture shape habits, perspectives, and self-expression. After completing her bachelor's, she plans to build a career that combines communication, strategy, and an international perspective while allowing her to work across cultures.
Her writing interests include culture, beauty, fashion, music, travel, food, relationships, and digital media. She is especially drawn to topics that begin with an everyday observation and reveal something larger about the way people live, connect with each other, and consume media.
Outside of her academics and writing, Marta enjoys traveling, discovering new music, making collages, reading books by international authors and commentary pieces on Substack, and getting absorbed in researching whatever topic has most recently caught her attention. Through Her Campus, she hopes to turn that curiosity into writing that feels thoughtful, engaging, and relevant to readers' lives, whether by introducing them to something new, or offering perspectives that help fellow Gen Z college-aged women better understand their own experiences.
