Marisol Hernandez Brito

Kenyon '26

Marisol Hernandez Brito is a Mexican writer raised in the northwestern suburbs of Chicago. She is a senior at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, where she is majoring in English with a concentration in the Integrated Program in Humane Studies.

Her writing often draws from her heritage as well as her love for science and the natural world. This past summer, she conducted research on how AI companions are reshaping ideas of love, intimacy, and human connection. The project deepened her interest in making complex concepts accessible to a wider audience and strengthened her skills as both a researcher and a writer.

Marisol is passionate about celebrating culture and identity while exploring what it means to be a woman navigating contemporary life. When she is not writing, she enjoys grabbing coffee with friends, talking about politics and pop culture, and listening to artists like Bad Bunny, Natalia Lafourcade, The Marías, and Mitski. She also finds joy in working out, photography, poetry, and watching movies.
