My name is Makayla J. Batts, and I’m a Public Relations major at Howard University I’ve always been passionate about creativity, storytelling, and helping others find their voice, which is what led me to pursue PR.
Outside of my leadership roles, I’ve had the opportunity to grow my skills through the Propel Center’s Arts & Entertainment Industry Accelerator, where I served as the Director of Marketing for a student-led music project. That experience taught me how powerful strategic communication can be when it’s rooted in creativity and culture. My ultimate career goal is to become a Sports, Media, and Entertainment Lawyer, combining my love for law, branding, and community development to advocate for athletes, creators, and underserved communities.
When I’m not working or studying, I enjoy creating content that explores beauty, faith, and lifestyle, as well as capturing moments through photography and videography. I’m passionate about uplifting my community, embracing my identity as a Black woman, and using my gifts to inspire others to walk boldly in their purpose.
