Maham is a third-year Journalism student at Toronto Metropolitan University, and a volunteer writer for Her Campus. She is currently focused on her academic career, minoring in criminology and English, with plans to aim for a English masters and eventually attend law school.
She centers much of her writing around social issues, animal rights, and the arts, often weaving in real-world stories. Covering topics such as, South Asian discrimination, animal health care, Canada’s political climate, and international student stigma. Maham aims to write with emotion, utilizing real stories, in a way that informs readers without desensitizing them to global issues.
Outside of writing, Maham is dedicated to her photography, music, crafts, and journaling. She loves to explore and experiment with different hobbies, holding the ones that stick very closely. Music remains one of her many passions, completing five years of musical experience with various different instruments. While still making time for different photoshoots, exploring photoshop techniques, and turning her friends into models.
She’s looking forward to broadening her horizons through new topics in journalism—seeing new people, cultures, and events. Maham wants to open her eyes to examine more of the world, and can’t wait to see where storytelling takes her next!
