Maeve is a second-year journalism and communications student at Carleton University. She loves to learn and tell real stories about real people. Growing up with a passion for music, she aims to incorporate arts and culture into anything she writes.
In high school, Maeve worked at Blue Heron Books as a bookseller where she shared her love of reading and storytelling with the community. In 2025, Maeve started an Instagram page called @uxbridgeintheknow to highlight local youth talents. From this project, she was featured in Uforeazine and later volunteered with the zine as a summer student journalist. Over this past summer, she travelled to France with her brother, worked as a baker, and performed at SpringTide Music Festival. Now, Maeve balances being a full-time student with performing at open mics and venues in Ottawa, writing for Carleton’s student newspaper the Charlatan, and spending time with friends and family.
On a typical day, you can find Maeve running to an event to capture her next story (with an iced coffee in hand, of course). Looking forward, Maeve aspires to continue growing as a journalist and person through connecting with new people, experiences, and music.
