My name is Mae Legare and I am from East Greenwich, Rhode Island. I attended LaSalle Academy in Providence, RI and graduated as a member of First Honors with Distinction, the National Honor Society, as well as the French Honor Society. I am now an English and Art History major with a minor in Francophone Studies at Holy Cross.
I have held a full-time job as a nanny for ages 1-4 for the past three summers. I have also babysat for other families in my area. Last year, I worked at Nancy Stephens Art Gallery, where I assisted in youth and young adult art classes. This past summer, in addition to nannying, I worked for RI Boutique in Watch Hill, RI, where I gained experience in retail, customer service, styling, and helped manage the social media. I created a jewelry company in the 6th grade, which I still run during the summertime. I create each piece by hand, with various bead and knot styles, and donate a percentage of the proceeds to Boston Childrens Hospital. I currently sell through my website and a boutique in Narragansett, RI, Crosswynd Traders.
My favorite genre of writing is poetry and historical fiction, but I love reading all types of literature. I have great interest in the Northern Renaissance and Impressionist painters. I thoroughly enjoy writing, whether it be for academic papers in school or journaling. Outside of my academic interests, I enjoy volunteering, painting and drawing, moving my body, spending time with my friends, and going to the beach.
