From Pleasanton, California, Leann is a senior at the University of California, Berkeley, where she is pursuing her bachelor's degree in Microbial Biology in the Rausser College of Natural Resources. Driven by a passion for preventive care, she is actively working towards attending dental school post-graduation. She is excited to combine her academic knowledge with patient-centered care.
When she isn't busy with lab experiments or lecture, Leann is heavily involved with other organizations. As an active member of UC Berkeley's Pre-Dental Society, Dental Brigades, and Project Smile, she is committed to providing compassionate community care. Aside from her pre-dental commitments, she is connected with her culture through the Korean American Student Association (KASA) and is a copy editor for The Public Health Advocate.
In her free time, you can usually find her cafe hopping, taking frequent trips on BART to San Francisco in search of coffee spots and bakeries. If a menu has anything strawberry flavored, whether it be matcha, boba, or dessert, she is immediately ordering it. To unwind after long study sessions, Leann loves staying active through yoga and pilates, trying to be a "Strava runner", or focusing her creativity to sculpt tiny art pieces out of clay.
