Lailah is a sophomore at the University of California, Berkeley, majoring in Theater and Performance Studies (TDPS) with a minor in Journalism and a concentration in Creative Writing. She began writing for the Berkeley chapter in 2026 and has been actively involved in the creative community on campus, including her work with ASUC’s Creative Equity Department under Margaret Solomon’s department, as well as (DAES) Black Film Collective.
A passionate artist and musician, Lailah is always looking for new ways to express herself creatively. She loves going on solo dates, spending time with her friends, and binge-watching her favorite comfort shows back-to-back, including New Girl, Modern Family, Orange Is the New Black, and Shameless. Her love for storytelling extends beyond writing, as she is excited to experience more musicals and plays throughout the school year, collaborate with musical artists, and perform for different events and games on campus.
Looking ahead, Lailah hopes to continue growing as an artist and performer while building meaningful creative connections. One of her biggest dreams is to collaborate with other musicians, perform in different spaces, and eventually create a band of her own. She is excited to see where her creativity, passion, and experiences at Berkeley take her.
