Khalaya Knowell

Khalaya Ladonne Knowell is a sophomore biology major and chemistry minor from Pittsburgh, PA at the illustrious Howard University. She serves as a Social Media member at Her Campus, Howard Chapter!
Beyond Her Campus, she graduated high school as Class Salutatorian in 2022. Khalaya is currently the Vice President of Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society Theta Theta Chapter, in which she published a research paper titled “Maternal Mortality Disparities in the US: Racial and Ethnic Healthcare Disparities Theory”, in a peer-reviewed journal. She is involved in many organizations, a significant one being the Women in Pre-Med National Organization. In which she aspires to become an OB-GYN, studying Maternal Mortality in Black women.
When Khalaya has time to breathe and live, she enjoys learning ASL, drawing/painting, volunteering in her community, and exploring her environment. Oh, and let us not forget her love for fashion and thrifting. Since a child she has been passionate about becoming a doctor, since 5th grade of elementary school to be exact. In her words, the greatest show ever created was Grey’s Anatomy, which most likely developed her love for medicine as a child.
