Katherine Alderfer is a finance student at Bucknell University’s Freeman College of Management with a passion for entrepreneurship, investing, and making traditionally intimidating financial spaces more accessible. She is especially interested in how financial literacy can empower young people, particularly teens and young women, to build confidence and independence early on. With a strong foundation in economics, marketing, and business strategy, Katherine is driven by the belief that smart financial decisions can be both approachable and meaningful.
Before Bucknell, Katherine attended Culver Academies, where she held several leadership roles that shaped her interest in business and management. She served as the General Manager of Rubin Café, a student run café where she oversaw daily operations, managed staff, planned promotions, and tracked revenue and costs. She is also the co founder of MicroMillions, a teen focused micro investing startup designed to help beginners enter the market in a way that feels unintimidating and realistic. Through this experience, she has explored everything from building a product to understanding how ideas turn into real impact.
When she is not focused on classes, Katherine enjoys being busy and engaged, whether that means planning something new or spending time with friends. She values conversations that feel honest and grounded. She is excited to contribute to Her Campus by writing pieces that feel relatable and relevant to college life.
