Originally from Trumbull, Connecticut, Jyotsna Krishna brings a new perspective to her writing, combining personal culture shocks with norms and a New England twist. Through her writing, she hopes to capture the small details of everyday life while offering perspectives that are both relatable and thought-provoking. Whether she is sharing her thoughts on a movie, reviewing a local spot, or reflecting on cultural experiences, Jyotsna strives to make her writing engaging, authentic, and enjoyable for her readers.
Jyotsna is a first-year undergraduate at UVA's School of Arts and Sciences, where she is pursuing a double major in Economics and Government on the Pre-Law track. Her academic interests are in human behavior, policy, and advocacy, but her passion for helping others has remained a consistent thread throughout her education. At UVA, she continues to seek out opportunities to help inform or entertain other students through publications. She hopes to develop her writing voice while sharing perspectives that encourage readers to think about familiar topics in new ways.
In her free time, Jyotsna enjoys figure skating and going to the gym. She loves exploring new coffee shops, discovering unique boutiques, and finding hidden gems in her surroundings. A movie enthusiast, she is always searching for her next favorite film, whether it is a classic, a new release, or an underrated recommendation.
