I am from Brooklyn, NY, and currently a junior majoring in Urban Studies with a concentration in Architecture at Barnard College. I spent the spring semester at Barnard focusing on the economic and racial disparities and how they impact marginalized communities in urban spaces like New York. During the spring semester, I interned as a Social Media Marketing Intern at Beauty and the City, where I learned about the challenges of managing a small black owned business. Throughout my time interning there, I learned about the marketing skills that are essential to garner the right audience. I care about many social justice issues, including redlining, public health, and the ongoing problem of lack of accessibility and resources in low-income communities. I plan to work in the architectural or city planning field to ameliorate the contemptible living conditions of inner-city residents on the East Coast after graduation. Outside of college, I have numerous interests in hobbies like fashion design, studio arts, and reading.
