Iara Torres is a writer at the Her Campus at Río Piedras chapter. She studies Comparative Literature, which is where much of her interdisciplinary perspective stems from. Iara loves to write about books, music, film, art, pop culture, and fandom. She also enjoys complementing her articles with a personal tone when she sees fit. Her writing will always strive to connect themes that don’t seem to appear related at first glance.
Besides Her Campus, Iara has worked as part of the directive board of AELC (Asociación de Estudiantes de Literatura Comparada) and as a tutor for children. After graduating with her BA, she hopes to pursue a master’s degree in Comparative Literature, Art History, or an MLIS to become a librarian. Additionally, some of her goals include publishing academic essays and poetry.
