I am a Communications major at Slippery Rock University, where I focus on developing strong skills in media writing, public relations, and organizational communication. Throughout my time at SRU, I’ve learned how impactful communication can be in shaping relationships, influencing opinions, and building communities. My classes have helped me strengthen my writing, research, and critical-thinking abilities, and they’ve also shown me how important clear and thoughtful communication is in both academic and professional settings.
Outside of the classroom, I am an active member of Tri Sigma, where I serve as the Vice President of Operations. This role has allowed me to take on major responsibilities within my chapter, from managing organizational tasks to helping keep the chapter running smoothly. Being in this position has pushed me to grow as a leader, a communicator, and a problem-solver. It has also given me the chance to support my sisters, build meaningful connections, and contribute to a positive and organized chapter environment.
Looking ahead, I hope to build a career in the communication field, possibly in public relations, social media management, or event planning. I love connecting with others, staying involved, and finding ways to make a positive impact on the communities I’m part of. My academic work and my leadership experience in Tri Sigma have both helped shape the person I am becoming, and I’m excited to continue growing personally and professionally.
