I'm Harriet, and I'm currently majoring in Elementary Education with the hopes of becoming a teacher. I transferred to CNU from ODU and feel that CNU is the perfect fit for me! I grew up in Newport News, and I actually commute to class every day. My favorite subject is math, and I plan on working hard to maintain a good GPA so I can hopefully get my master's in instruction and curriculum from UVA. I currently work at the Ticket Office here on campus, but I also have experience as a stagehand and a daycare worker. I love working with kids and am so excited to become a teacher.
Some of my passions include being outside, shopping, baking, and video gaming. I love going to the beach, going on hikes, and taking walks when I get the chance. I go thrifting and online shopping probably more than my wallet or closet can bear, and I love to bake something yummy whenever I have free time. I love cozy games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, and am also a huge nerd for Red Dead Redemption and the Arkham series.
Some things that are really important to me that will likely be relevant in this chapter are my strong beliefs in making everyone feel included. I am a firm believer in creating safe spaces, and I also would want to establish a sense of community in everything I produce. I know how lonely college can be, and I hope to be the kind of person I want to see more of and create works that make people feel seen.
