I’m a second-year Honours Life Sciences student at McMaster University, specializing in Origins of Disease. My interest in health and medicine has grown through my coursework, research experiences, and involvement in healthcare and community settings. I’m especially interested in understanding how scientific research connects to people’s everyday health experiences, with particular interests in women’s health, wellness, and disease. Outside of academics, I’m involved in research initiatives and community volunteering.
I’ve been tutoring students since high school, and I really enjoy finding ways to make complicated topics feel more approachable. Working with students has also taught me how important it is to communicate information in a way that is clear, relatable, and suited to different people. My experiences volunteering in healthcare and community settings have furthered my interest in understanding the different factors that shape people’s health and well-being.
When I’m not studying, volunteering, or working on a new assignment, I enjoy going on long walks, listening to music, spending time with friends, and exploring new places and activities. I also love swimming and am slowly learning how to ice skate.
I’m excited about the opportunity to explore topics that are relevant to university students, from health and wellness to academics, friendships, and figuring out who you are during university. I hope to share perspectives and ideas that are informative, relatable, and genuinely useful to other students.
