Gianna Hosen

UIC '28

Gianna Hosen is an undergraduate student studying Political Science on the pre-law track, with a minor in Spanish in the Professions. Her academic interests are shaped by a strong curiosity about law, society, and human behavior, which has led her to explore topics at the intersection of politics, psychology, and ethics. As a student preparing for law school, Gianna is particularly drawn to understanding how legal systems impact individuals and communities, and how cultural and social factors influence decision-making and justice. Her long-term professional aspiration is to become a corporate attorney and eventually own her own law firm.

Born in Ecuador and proudly half Argentinian and half Peruvian, Gianna’s multicultural background plays a central role in shaping her worldview. Growing up within a diverse and close-knit family has instilled in her strong values surrounding connection, responsibility, and community. She especially cherishes spending time with her friends and family, including her younger brothers, who continue to inspire her sense of care and leadership. Gianna also enjoys exploring new restaurants and cuisines, embracing food as a way to connect with culture and people.

Outside of academics, Gianna prioritizes personal growth and well-being. She enjoys going to the gym and meeting new people, valuing both physical health and social connection. An avid reader, she has a deep interest in psychology and religion, subjects that allow her to reflect on human nature, belief systems, and personal identity. A self-proclaimed chocolate enthusiast, Gianna finds joy in life’s small pleasures. While she is driven by ambitious professional goals, she would be just as fulfilled building and nurturing a large, loving family, believing that success is ultimately defined by both impact and meaningful relationships.
