Born in upstate New York and raised in Northern California, Esther Lawson discovered her passion for art at a young age. She earned an Associate of Arts degree in Studio Arts from Shasta College before transferring to Chico State, where she is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree with a minor in Interior Architecture. Alongside her studies, Esther works two part-time jobs, in fast-food and retail, and shares an apartment with three roommates and her cat.
As a Junior at Chico, Esther is focused on her academic and personal growth. She is determined to make the most of her second semester by stepping out of her comfort zone to meet new people, attend campus events, and build stronger connections. Esther has always found it challenging to make friends, but this year she is committed to being more outgoing and embracing new social opportunities.
Outside of her academic and work commitments, Esther enjoys relaxing with her cat, listening to music, and daydreaming about warmer weather. She values spending time with her roommates and FaceTiming her childhood friend who lives in Tennessee. Esther understands the importance of maintaining balance, and she plans to prioritize self-care by setting aside time to recharge after stressful weeks. She believes that taking care of her physical and mental health is key to staying energized and focused in the busy months ahead.
Looking toward the Spring 2025 semester, Esther is excited about what lies ahead. With her goals firmly set on achieving success in her studies, forging meaningful connections, and nurturing her creativity, she is ready to embrace new challenges while maintaining her well-being.
