My name is Erin Bailey, and I am currently studying occupational therapy and philosophy at the University of Scranton. I will graduate with my bachelor’s degrees in Spring 2027 and continue my education to earn my Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree in 2029. I am interested in learning more about how occupational therapy can help people maintain independence and participate in the activities that are meaningful to them.
Throughout college, I have had the opportunity to gain experience with both pediatric and older adult populations. I currently work as a teaching assistant for a pediatric occupational therapy course and am involved on campus as a CHEW Peer Health Educator. I am also a member of Phi Sigma Tau, the International Honor Society in Philosophy. Through my classes and fieldwork experiences, I have been able to learn more about the different populations and practice areas within occupational therapy.
Outside of school, I enjoy music, going to the beach, and running. Music has always been an important interest of mine, and I participate in Performance Music on campus. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family and staying active. In the future, I hope to become an occupational therapist and eventually become a Certified Hand Therapist. I am especially interested in working with individuals recovering from injuries and conditions affecting the upper extremity and helping them return to the activities that are important in their daily lives.
