Hi, I’m Emma Tyler! I’m an incoming sophomore at San Diego State University, where I’m majoring in Journalism with a minor in Film and Television.
Storytelling has always been a powerful force in my life. Growing up in Nebraska, my love for this art began through a deep admiration for film and television. My family bonded over movie nights every Saturday, and those shared narratives created lasting connections. Over time, this passion grew into a love for writing. By my junior year of high school, I was honored to serve as Editor-in-Chief of my school newspaper.
Storytelling fuels me. I strive to connect with people through my experiences and words. That’s exactly what I hope to accomplish with Her Campus: to create work that resonates with and reflects the diverse voices of women on my campus. Being able to identify with and support my community through my writing would be a truly meaningful experience.
When I’m not writing, I often indulge myself in my favorite media. I love taking long drives while listening to ’70s music, going to the local movie theater with my best friends, or enjoying a good book at my favorite coffee shop. I’m excited to be part of the Her Campus community and to continue growing as both a writer and a creative voice.
