I’m Emily Pineda, a Liberal Studies student at California State University, San Bernardino, pursuing the Pre Credential General Concentration. Before transferring to CSUSB, I studied at Mt. San Jacinto College, where my coursework in Child Development and Psychology deepened my curiosity about how children learn, grow, and make sense of the world around them. That curiosity has stayed with me as I continue exploring education and the people within it.
Writing is how I make sense of the world. I enjoy reading mystery, thriller, and romance, and I’m drawn to writing that finds meaning in details that might otherwise pass unnoticed. My favorite pieces are the ones that leave something behind, a question, a feeling, or a thought that returns later when you least expect it.
I’ve always thought some moments arrive carrying more meaning than we recognize at first. A sentence overheard in passing, a familiar place that suddenly feels different, the quiet realization that you have outgrown something you once thought would last. I find myself returning to those fragments in my writing. At CSUSB, I’m also a member of the Child Development Club. Her Campus gives me a place to gather those fragments and see what they become when given language.
