Diya Rau has always loved writing, and is excited to explore her passions as a writer for HerCampus.
The senior in Environmental Engineering was born and brought up in Raleigh, NC and hopes to one day move north to a big city, where she can work in water resources engineering and hopefully lead international projects. Her internships have spanned from Land Development at Mckim&Creed to Water Treatment at Stantec. She is the lead of the Sierra Leone Water Supply Project with NCSU's chapter of Engineers Without Borders and will be traveling to Sierra Leone for the second time this year. She is also an avid member of Epsilon Eta, SWE, and participates in research on campus.
Outside of school, Diya loves dancing, and her dance background ranges from being a dancer on NCSU's Bollywood team Nazaare to Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian form. She loves to spend time with her friends, read more books, play pickleball, and travel! Her favorite artists include Don Toliver, SZA, Dominic Fike, Frakk Ocean, and Steve Lacy.
