Diya Murthy

ASU '26

Diya is a sophomore at ASU double majoring in Political Science and Philosophy with a minor in Economics. She is passionate about politics and current events, and she is an advocate for women’s rights, climate activism, and mental health awareness. Diya has interned for the Arizona State Senate Page Program, where she learned about our current issues affecting our state. This past summer, she interned for APAICS, an Asian American nonprofit organization in Washington DC that advocates for Asian American involvement in politics. Diya is involved in community service, and is treasurer of the Omega Phi Alpha service sorority at ASU. She is also the community outreach coordinator for Devils4devils, a club that supports mental health awareness on campus. Diya hopes to combine her love of writing with her love of advocacy through being a “Her Campus” article writer!

In her free time, Diya loves to read and write, scrapbook, and go on runs. Diya has grown up in Arizona her whole life with her parents, older sister, and their dog. Diya’s goal in life is to serve as a voice for the voiceless, and her dream vacation spot is Thailand.
