Divya Sakthivel is a sophomore at The University of Texas at Dallas, where she is pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Finance through the Jindal School of Management. She is committed to developing technical and leadership skills that will support her career in the finance industry. Through her coursework and extracurricular involvement, she has cultivated analytical, communication, and organizational abilities that complement her passion for financial management and entrepreneurship.
Professionally, Divya gained experience by working as a financial assistant, where she analyzed profit and loss statements, managed rental property records and budgeted to reduce costs. She also showcased her entrepreneurial skills through her self-employed role as a car rental agent with TURO, where she conducted market research, secured $10,000 in equity funding, and managed operations to earn an “All Star” profile. Additionally, her leadership experience extends to campus and community involvement, including serving as a Freshman Senator on the UTD Student Government Communications Committee and as Digital Presence Chair for Keep in Mind, a nonprofit focused on awareness initiatives.
Divya enjoys opportunities to connect with others and foster her creativity. She participated in the Toastmasters Youth Leadership Program, where she honed her public speaking and leadership abilities. She brings a multicultural perspective to her work and is eager to build a meaningful career in finance while also contributing to the communities she is part of.
