Dani Brazeal is a first-year journalism student at Carleton University. She is interested in travel and culture, wellness, music, TV and film, and literature. Above all, she hopes that— through her writing— she can convey authentic and meaningful stories, and can help to inspire the next generation of journalists.
Dani grew up in a small town in Saskatchewan, where she developed an immense passion for writing and reading. One of the first moments to spark her curiosity for a career in journalism was when she won the local “Police Chief for a Day” writing contest in the fifth grade. Since then, she has continued to build upon her writing skills and has developed a deep appreciation for the world and people around her— qualities which helped to push her towards journalism.
Outside of school, Dani can be found in the dance studio learning new choreography, reading 500-page fantasy novels, watching the latest season of "Survivor", or ambitiously planning her next trip.
