My name is Cristina Elks and I am half English and Italian but was raised in Basel, Switzerland. Before coming to St Andrews I completed the Matura (Swiss baccalaureate). Thanks to my multicultural upbringing, I speak German, Italian and French as well as English. I study English and German here as well as classical studies. Growing up in a household full of language has given me a special appreciation for languages and cultures.
In my free time, I enjoy reading (my favourite genres are classics and thrillers) as well as completing puzzles and going out with friends:
