Clara Bapt

Casper Libero '27

I’m Clara Bapt (she/her), a Brazilian journalism student at Faculdade Cásper Líbero in São Paulo, graduating in 2027. I speak Portuguese, English, and French fluently, can get by in Spanish, and understand a bit of Italian. I’m still figuring out which part of journalism fits me best, which I find very exciting as curiosity keeps me moving.
When I’m off duty, I’m usually watching any sports game, playing with my dogs, or independently studying psychology. I have two dogs: Luan, a twelve year old Yorkshire Terrier, and Chewbacca, a two year old Shih Tzu, which I love more than anything. They are a constant reminder that I need to stop to notice the small things in life that make it special.
Since I’m still figuring out where I want to land in journalism, as of right now I would love to explore the sports area and medicine area in my line of work. Years of playing and watching soccer and volleyball taught me timing, teamwork, and how momentum can change everything. Also, my interest in psychology has taught me a certain set of skills that I find essential when dealing with people as often as a journalist has to. Rather it be in interviews talking about a sensitive topic with someone, or even in a day to day life situation where I disagree with a colleague and have to bring it up in the most respectful way.
My main goal in journalism is rather simple: to be able to contribute to the lives of the readers through each article I write. I might not have all the answers yet, but I am happy to take you along the ride as I am doing this to figure things out about myself, my future and also about the world around us.
