Christina Stelter

Wisconsin '28

My name is Christina Stelter, a current University of Wisconsin-Madison student obtaining my bachelor’s degree in mathematics through the College of Letters and Sciences. I completed my associate’s degree in physics at the College of Lake County in Grayslake, IL in May of 2026 with a GPA of 3.5 and was in the honors program for English. I am from Libertyville, IL, a smaller suburb north of Chicago.

I am an avid reader, competitive equestrian, and math enthusiast! I believe that math shouldn't be as scary as it usually seems, and that math education is crucial. I worked as a math tutor at my community college. As for reading, I am into the newest TikTok genre, Romantasy, as well as Sci-Fi and psychological thrillers (like Agatha Christe). From the sports side, I have been riding horses since 2013 (when I was 8 years old!) and started competing in around 2016. I am a competitive showjumper, and I have many accolades from my time as an equestrian! I truly believe that riding horses is one of the best things you can do for your mind, body, and soul. Connecting with an animal that doesn't speak any semblance of language is a truly meaningful experience that has brought me through the darkest times of my life.

I am also a mental health advocate. As someone with diagnosed MDD, PMDD, and GAD, I believe that mental health and the reduction of mental health stigma are incredibly important topics across college campuses and the world as a whole. I believe that mental and physical health and wellness are some of the most important aspects of ones' life, no matter how old you are, what gender you identify with, your sexuality, your ethnicity, or any other discriminating factors. Everyone, from all backgrounds, should be able to support their own health and wellness, with support from organizations, educational resources, and the government.
