Christina Charles

As a current undergraduate senior at Stony Brook University, I am currently in pursuit of my bachelors of science degree in Biology, with a discipline in neuroscience, as well as a minor in Health, Medicine and Society. I am a pre-dental student trying to expand my horizons and eager to acquire some insight into the realm of medicine and patient care, particularly in facial reconstruction. To gain experience and knowledge of the field beyond the scope of just theoretical or laboratory studies would be a wonderful opportunity I would like to accomplish.
In my developing professional career path, I had the honor of working closely alongside Stony Brook's finest as a patient transporter at Stony Brook University Hospital. Through this experience, I had the opportunity to aide patients and their families as they receive care, in addition to gaining crucial insight into diplomacy and various healthcare professions. My affiliation with the hospital allowed me to advance my education and clinical experience in phlebotomy and medical assisting respectively. I currently work at speech and myofunctional therapy practice where I have consistent interaction with a demographic of patients I aspire to help in the future as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.
During my free time, I love watching movies and gameplays, as well as listening to music of various genres. I am also excited to now be a member of Her Campus and hope to get involved in various projects centered around empowerment and acknowledging the various accomplishments and strides made by those with ambition and passion.
