Chelsey Phillips

Baylor '28

Chelsey is currently a nursing major and minoring in Spanish and Chemistry who is passionate about helping others and making a difference in people’s lives. I have always been interested in healthcare, but my coursework has helped confirm that nursing is the right path for me. Through classes such as anatomy and physiology and introductory nursing courses, Chelsey have begun building a strong foundation in understanding the human body and how to care for patients in a safe and compassionate way. Chelsey especially drawn to nursing because it combines science, critical thinking, and human connection. In the future, Chelsey hope to work in a hospital setting where I can continue learning and growing while providing quality care to patients and their families.
Beyond academics, Chelsey value service and being involved in my community. Chelsey enjoy opportunities that allow me to support others, whether that is through volunteering, group activities, or simply being there for people who need encouragement. These experiences have shaped the kind of nurse I hope to become someone who is not only skilled, but also empathetic and understanding. Chelsey am particularly interested in areas of nursing that require strong communication and emotional awareness, such as pediatrics or emergency care, where nurses play a vital role during some of the most stressful moments in a person’s life.
Outside of school, Chelsey enjoy spending time with friends and family, listening to music, and relaxing whenever I get the chance. Chelsey believe that taking care of myself mentally and emotionally is important so that I can be fully present for others. As Chelsey continue my journey as a nursing student, I am excited to grow, learn, and challenge myself. My goal is to become a compassionate, dependable, and knowledgeable nurse who always puts patients first.
