As an undergraduate student in the field of exercise and health science at UMass Boston, I am passionate about exploring physical well-being and holistic health practices. I'm currently enrolled in the class of 2027, furthering my education with a bachelors degree in exercise and health science, complemented by a minor in communications.
I find myself actively involved in initiatives to destigmatize mental health and foster awareness. During my high school years, I took on the role of founder and president of a mental health coalition dedicated to erasing the stigma surrounding mental health issues. Through a combination of in-person events and virtual engagement, my group and I created a supportive environment where individuals could openly discuss mental health challenges. Serving as the group's social media manager and meeting facilitator, I used my leadership and communication skills while fostering a sense of community among peers.
In addition to my academic and advocacy efforts, I feel committed to gaining practical experience in the healthcare industry. As an administrative healthcare assistant on campus and a receptionist at a local salon, I have developed a strong work ethic and a strong ability to navigate diverse environments. From multitasking in a healthcare setting, to providing customer service in a salon setting, I attempt to approach each role with equal dedication and enthusiasm.
I find joy in creative outlets such as jewelry making and acrylic portrait painting. These hobbies not only serve as a source of relaxation but also allow me to express my artistic side.
