Catherine Von Ohlen

Hello, my name is Catherine Von Ohlen, and I am a junior at The College of New Jersey. In 2023, I graduated from the County College of Morris with an associate degree in early childhood education and then transferred to TCNJ. I am currently dual majoring in Elementary Education and English. My first job was as a cashier at my local Walgreens, and I was prompted to be a shift lead. Over the summer, I worked at a day camp as a Pre-K counselor, which I absolutely loved doing. I chose the path of a career in education because I knew I always wanted to work with children. Learning is a passion of mine, and I would love nothing more than to spread the joy of learning to the younger generation.
I chose English as my second major because I love literature and writing. Every year since 2018, I challenged myself to a reading goal. Last year, I surpassed my goal of reading 25 books and read 37 books. My favorite genre is thriller/mystery. I also enjoy writing short stories and fiction. I especially enjoy creating characters and their relationships with one another. I also have a cat named Ruby, who I adore very much.
