Hello! My name is Carolyn, and I'm a current student at UMass Amherst. I was born and raised in Massachusetts and went to high school in Holden. Growing up, I have always loved writing, from middle school-level diary entries, to high school research and creative writing papers, and now to university-level work. I have always felt as though literature and creative expression have been my biggest strengths and I am extremely passionate about sharing my best work with others! I am especially interested in pursuing communications with a focus in journalism as I continue with my college career.
In addition to writing, I am also especially musically and athletically-inclined. I grew up singing in choirs, playing the piano, dabbling in musical theater, and running track and field. Each distinct experience has taught me a bit more about myself and my passions, and has also allowed me to meet who would become not only my best friends, but also some of the people who influenced me to pursue writing and other hobbies I have come to love.
Writing for my college classes has really taught me to expand my writing style in ways I had never before considered. I have become comfortable with styles far beyond the standard five-paragraph essay - now, I have had experience with various forms of writing such as short stories, infographics, speeches, and more, and I am extremely enthusiastic about continuing my writing career!
