My name is Cali Dugger, and I am an advertising student from Marion, Illinois. I graduated from Marion High School in 2024 and graduated from John A. Logan College in May 2026 with an Associate of Arts degree. I became interested in advertising because I have always enjoyed being creative and coming up with new ideas. Taking marketing and social media marketing classes helped me realize that advertising is something I really enjoy and could see myself doing as a career.
I have gained much of my experience through various jobs and internships. I worked as a social media manager for Smoothie King, where I created posts for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, took pictures and videos, and helped promote the business. I also worked as a sports and event photographer and Volunteer intern at John A. Logan College. I took pictures at different sporting events and school activities and helped create content for the college. These experiences have helped me learn more about social media, photography, content creation, and how businesses and organizations use these things to connect with people.
Outside of school and work, I enjoy photography, staying active, spending time with my family and friends, and being involved in my community. In high school, I was involved in Student Council, FBLA, National Honor Society, yearbook, and varsity tennis. I have also volunteered at events such as the Veterans Honor Flight, blood drives, food distribution centers, and community cleanup events. I am excited to continue learning more about advertising and gaining experience in the field. I hope to have a career where I can be creative, work with others, and help businesses promote themselves in ways that connect with their customers.
