My name is Brookelynn Gorrin and I am currently a student at the University of South Carolina on track to graduate in May of 2029. I am originally from Charleston, South Carolina where I attended Academic Magnet High School. Throughout my four years there, I received 125 volunteer hours through a plethora of organizations. For example, I volunteered as a classroom assistant at my local elementary school, North Charleston Creative Arts, working in first and second grade classrooms. Additionally, I was a student mentor at my high school, a program that assists freshmen students in their transition from middle to high school. In addition to working with kids, I also have a strong passion for healthcare. My senior year of high school, I was a part of SC HOSA. Additionally, I job shadowed multiple floors of the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital, ultimately discovering my passion for nursing. Now that I am in college, I am trying to become involved as much as possible. I am currently a candidate for A.O.E, a professional and social sorority directed towards women in stem related fields. Some of my other clubs and commitments include Her Campus, Women's Lifting Club, UofSC Book Club, Women in Healthcare Club, and more! Though I am currently a biology major, I am on track to switch to nursing for next school year. Finally, although I hold a deep passion for healthcare, I also have a marketing and journalism side of me that I would like to exercise as well. I am looking into declaring a minor in journalism. I love all things sports and would love to explore the process of interviewing athletes and observing games. Furthermore, I am also interested in creating posts, videos, etc. that discuss the lifestyle of young adult women. That is a summary all about me, I am thrilled to be a part of Her Campus! <3
