To this day, there is a baby picture that everyone who knows me favors, it’s a picture of me as a baby holding a book with a look of utter curiosity. That essentially sums up the rest of my life, I realized now that books have always had a hold on me and those who read often write. Therefore I have decided to use the opportunity to apply to the Her Campus team because literature is my passion and writing is a muscle that I want to continue strengthening for the rest of my life. It’s something I enjoy avidly and I feel I should do more outside of the academic limitations. Which is why I am excited to apply to the Her Campus team.
My name is Brenaisha Acevedo Echevarria, I am currently doing my Master’s degree in the English department literature track. I’m also an instructor, I teach Intermediate English. I hope to one day, be a professor, a writer, an editor and anything else that I can be. I am passionate about many things, such as gothic literature. I am currently doing my thesis on Frankenstein. I absolutely adore all things gothic, though I cannot stand to watch horror movies. I dislike popcorn but I adore going to the movies. I adore nature but am absolutely terrified of any and all bugs. I am a living breathing juxtaposition.
My hobby mainly consists of collecting hobbies or at least collecting the supplies and abandoning them once my hyperfixation ends. I am an avid reader, but I don’t feel like I’ve written enough in my college career. I am hoping to join Her Campus team, as a writer, or if the positions have been filled as an editor. I usually keep to myself to a fault and I feel like I’ve thought about joining clubs more than I’ve actually joined them. This year, however, I am excited to finally try joining the team. I’ve read a few Her Campus articles and I truly believe I can contribute some wonderful ideas that beg to be written about.
